Wave to continue in the face of adversity

There has been loads going on since last Saturday when the news of Popkomm being cancelled was released.
Rest assured TGAW will continue!!!
In fact we are now holding showcases in 3 major cities which will give the artists involved a better chance of reaching Industry contacts in that area without the competition that Popkomm inevitably has. These cities will be released in the next few days.  Despite Arts Victoria pulling the funding granted to the showcase we are determined to make this happen and work for all artists involved.  Lets hope that Arts Victoria and The Minister Lynne Kosky will see the value in all that is being done Indpendantly for these artists.
I would like to thank all the artists involved for their continued support and passion for their careers.   Lets make this a huge succes.

BREAKING NEWS

POPKOMM 2009 CANCELLED.

Well everyone looks as thought the financial crisis really has hit Germany hard.  Following is the letter sent by Popkomm

Before you hear it in the news I wanted to tell you that Popkomm 2009 is going to be postponed to 2010.

The main reason is that in recent years there has been a decline in the number of registered trade visitors. The current registration status of visitors is unsatisfying though the booking status of exhibitors is pretty good..

We want to protect our exhibitors and partners. We cannot guarantee a satisfying frequency of visitors during the xhibition. Less frequency would mean that we would have to minimize the exhibition which is not an option for us.

Also a lot of small businesses are really suffering at the moment und the market situation in the music industry is getting worser every day. In this economic situation it is unreasonable to organize Popkomm.

Conceptual changes and the new location have been accepted by the majority of exhibitors and partners. This is the basis for a fresh new start in 2010 where we will even have more changes and present a concept which satisfies everybody, especially trade visitors.

Thank you for your support and trust in us and we hope that we will team up again next year.
