  • Asleep in the Park - met promotor from London who has booked them a tour in England for June 2009, Met Martin Elbourne, Glastonbury Festival Booker, & Peter Noble, East Coast Blues & Roots Festival. "Outstanding organisation,  Posters, backline, huge advertising in the Festival literature, excellent organisation, publicity at home, info session, merch desks - outstanding ".  Signed with EMG for digital distribution
  • Lamplight signed a Publishing deal with Sarah-Chanderia at Hacate Entertainment Group. "i just want to say again that you guys did an AMAZING job with the blind beatroot aussie wave and the other gigs you helped us out with! I really appreciated "
  • Clare Bowditch - Interest from different companies which was followed up after Popkomm as Clare was living in Berlin.  "Very smoothly run, and as good promo as you can get in such a large city (Im still seeing the occasional poster around berlin)" said Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch and the Feeding Set)
  • Gigantic - Received airplay in Germany from contacts made through BlindBeatroot
  • Lawless Breed - signed up with digital aggregator EMG, contact from Blindbeatroot

We are Hunted has come to the rescue for TGAW after Vic Arts pulled funding due to Popkomm being cancelled. 

Online music chart Wearehunted.com has come to the rescue of the Great Australian Wave after the recent withdrawal of Arts Victoria funding.
Arts Victoria pulled its $10,000 commitment to the touring showcase of 12 Australian bands after the cancellation of annual Berlin music conference, Popkomm.
While Popkomm was to be an important part of the European tour the bands had independently secured other dates and venues so the overwhelming attitude was the show must go on.
When Aussie music startup We Are Hunted heard that the government was withdrawing the funding granted in writing by the Minster for the Arts Lynne Kosky, it decided to step in and offer financial support.
Funding from We Are Hunted will assist Great Australian Wave organisers with venue hire, marketing, publicity, flights and equipment hire and more importantly will help to connect Australian artists with new audiences

Bigger & Better


This years TGAW showcase at Popkomm will be bigger and beter than ever.  We are getting an amazing amount of applications from BlindBeatroot and the final list will be a hard one to make.  Thank god we have help from Popkomm itself on that one!!!
